Augusta's Veterans Day parade has stepped off at 10 a.m. Nov. 11 downtown; 2026 details are not out yet. Schools close Wednesday, Nov. 11; trash runs as normal.
Veterans Day is Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2026. Augusta’s downtown parade has stepped off at 10 a.m. on Nov. 11 in recent years, but the organizers had not posted the 2026 time or route when we checked on Oct. 25. Richmond County schools are closed that day, and city trash pickup runs as normal.
Last checked Oct. 25, 2026. This page is updated each year at the same address. We will add the 2026 parade time, route and road closures as soon as the organizers publish them.

The parade: what we know
2026: not yet announced. The Georgia Department of Veterans Service’s Augusta parade listing still shows 2023, and we found no 2026 parade listing from the organizers or on the city calendar when we checked.
What it looked like before: the Georgia Department of Veterans Service listed the 2023 parade at 10 a.m. Nov. 11, starting at the corner of 13th and Greene streets and ending at the All Wars Memorial, with a presentation to follow. In 2025 the parade again started at 10 a.m. on Nov. 11. It ran on Greene Street because of construction on Broad Street, WRDW reported; Rebecca Shores chairs the CSRA Augusta Veterans Day Parade. School bands from the Academy of Richmond County, Westside High and Hephzibah High marched.
If the 2026 parade follows the same pattern, it will be on a Wednesday morning, a school holiday. Treat that as a guide, not a schedule, until the organizers confirm it.
Ceremonies
- Augusta University held its Veterans Day celebration at the Maxwell Performing Arts Theatre on Nov. 11, 2025, with the AU Wind Ensemble (Augusta University). Its 2026 plans were not posted when we checked.
- North Augusta, South Carolina, about 13 miles away: American Legion Post 71 has held its ceremony at Wade Hampton Veterans Park. We did not find a 2026 listing from the post.
We list a ceremony when its organizer publishes the date, time and place. Organizers can send theirs through our contact page.
